City doctors treat ectopic pregnancy case

A woman, who was diagnosed with ectopic pregnancy, was saved from the jaws of death due to timely diagnosis and prompt treatment by doctors at Lotus Hospital for Women and Children.

Giving details to the media here on Wednesday, Hospital CEO K. Swamy said B. Jyothi of S. Kota was brought to the hospital around 11.30 p.m. with a complaint that she was suffering from stomach pain for four days. She was initially taken to a few other hospitals in the city.

Gynaecologist I. Vani noticed that her pulse was found to be very weak. Treatment was started immediately and the patient was given three bags of blood and within two hours surgery was performed by her along with Dr. K. Subba Raju and Dr. N. Vasudha, and patient was saved.

Dr. Murali Santosh, paediatrician and Dr. Ganesh Sanku, neonatal and peri-natal medicine, said the Hyderabad-based hospital had started its branch in Vizag a year ago and 1,100 in-patients were treated so far.
