September 09, 2012 12:54 pm | Updated October 18, 2016 02:48 pm IST - VISAKHAPATNAM:

CITU-affiliated BHPV Employees Union doubted the veracity of the statement of Union Minister of State for Human Resources Development D Purandeswari that the merger of BHPV with BHEL would be completed within 45 days.

Since 2008 Central ministers and MPs have been issuing statements about the merger and in fact even the INTUC won the elections for recognised union in 2011 based on the promise of INTUC all-India president G Sanjeeva Reddy to get the merger completed in two months, honorary president of CITU Greater Visakha Committee A Ajeya Sarma, president Prakash, general secretary B Penta Rao and vice president S Jyotiswara Rao said in a statement.

The CITU demanded that the merger scheme resolution dated May 25, 2012 be adopted and the proposal put up to the Cabinet for immediate approval.
