CII holds seminar on legal metrology

CII Visakhapatnam organised a one-day seminar on legal metrology and packaged commodities on Tuesday.

The seminar was addressed by Ch. Moulali, former Deputy Director of Legal Metrology in Consumer Affairs Department, Government of India. Mr. Moulali touched upon various aspects of the legal metrology and packaged commodities rules.

He also addressed the needs of manufacturers and importers, dealers, licensed repairers of weighing and measuring instruments, packaged commodities of various types of products like food, cosmetics, chemicals and paints, users of weighing and measuring instruments and also the personnel involved in the distribution of such products (both retail and wholesale) in the country under the new Act.

CII Vizag zone chairman and Visakhapatnam Port Deputy Chairman G.V.L. Satya Kumar said Legal Metrology Acts and Rules were mandatory requiring all stakeholders to comply with their requirements.
