The CID has started looking into certain allegations of fraudulent land allotments in the Visakhapatnam Urban Development Authority.

Based on the complaint made by Telugu Yuvata city president Lodagala Krishna to him, the Additional Director General of CID at Hyderabad, had asked the Additional SP of CID here to investigate.

Mr. Krishna on Thursday submitted documents relating to 417 square yards of land at Pandurangapuram which was allegedly allotted at a throwaway price. He also alleged that another 55 square yards of land adjacent to it was allotted in lieu of 90 cents of land reportedly acquired at Kapuluppada.

Sources in the CID said that instructions had been received from the CID head office at Hyderabad and investigation begun.

Four private persons and five officials -- three from VUDA and two from Registration Department -- were named in the complaint to the CID.

Mr. Krishna had already filed a complaint in the ACB court against land scandals in VUDA leading to a direction from the ACB judge to the ACB DSP to take up investigation and file a report by April 30.
