‘Chiranjeevi planning a studio in Vizag’

Film star turned politician K. Chiranjeevi is planning to construct a film studio in the city soon, Minister for Ports and Infrastructure Ganta Srinivasa Rao revealed here on Monday.

Talking to reporters after a programme, Mr. Srinivasa Rao said the Rajya Sabha MP would soon start the preparations.

Noted producer D. Ramanaidu has constructed a studio in the city and the scenic beauty of the city, the many tourist attractions, Araku Valley, Borra caves, the many other scenic areas and beaches in the district are now being preferred by the producers and directors to other places, he said. Visakhapatnam is the ideal place for film industry.

The attacks on film units during shooting sessions and on the homes and offices of film personalities in Hyderabad was also a reason for film producers to look at Visakhapatnam, he said.
