Sri Rama Charitable Trust, Srirampuram in L. Kota mandal is organising- Children's Festival-2010 for students of various schools in the district for four days on December 8, 9, 10 and 11, according to the chairman of the trust T. Subba Rao in a press release here on Tuesday.
Kolla Lalitha Kumari, S.Kota MLA would inaugurate the festival. The objective of the festival is to revive dying traditions and cultural activities, he said.
During the four days, competitions for children from nursery to class X would be conducted and they have been divided into three categories (sub-juniors Nursery to class IV; juniors: class V to VII and seniors Class 8 to 10). Students interested in participating in the competitions must bring a permission letter from their respective heads of schools. There is no entry fee. Those who wish to perform folk dance and playlets must register by December 1 for time slot.
Soon after the inauguration of the festival, competitions in drawing and painting would be conducted in the morning session. The participants must bring pencils, crayons and colours on their own. The trust would supply drawing sheets only. In the afternoon session, competitions in recitation of Telugu poems and fancy dress would be conducted. Essay writing, folk dance and playlets would be held on December 9; Elocution and Telugu songs competition (December 10) and general knowledge and writing skills (December 11).
