Children enthral audience at AP Formation Day fete

Boys and girls from various schools in the city and suburbs presented a fine cultural programme during the State Formation Day celebrations organised by the District Administration at the Collectorate here on Tuesday.

Clad in bright costumes, the schoolchildren danced with a lot of vigour and enthusiasm, making the programme a success.

Pupils of Priyanka Vidyadaya High School (Dabagardens) started the cultural programme by performing “Maha Ganapathi Manasasmrami” to a tune composed by AR Rehman, followed by “Galagala Nadula Prukruti Odilo” in which girls from Pollock High School (Dwarakanagar) described the rivers of the State.

Pupils of Vignan High School, Timmapuram explained about the State through “Edera, Edera Mana Rashtram” and KNM Girls High School (New Colony) paid tributes to the State through “Maa Telugu Talliki Mallepoodanda”.

History of the State was described by the PREMA Aided High School girls through “Yugayugala Charita Manadi” and ZPP High School, Nadupuru pupils danced to the famous song from an old film “Paadavoyi Bharateeyuda” and girls from the BBV High School near Reading Room brought the programme to an end dancing vigorously to the tune of “Desh Rangeela”.

District Collector Lav Agarwal and others presented mementoes to the participating schools.
