Child Fund India, a child development organisation representing deprived, excluded and vulnerable children, has partnered with six NGOs to extend comprehensive support to 6,000 children spread over six districts.
The funding agency has partnered with Nature for implementation of the project at Salur (Vizianagaram), GVMC areas in Visakhapatnam, Praja Seva Samaj in Anantapur, Sri Hanumantha Raya Educational & Cultural Society in Kurnool and East Godavari and Rashtriya Seva Samithi in Chitoor.
“Under the ambitious project to be implemented in collaboration with Child Fund India and National Commission for Protection of Child Rights, we have initiated child support to spread awareness through cultural teams through folk songs (Kala jatha) performances against child marriages and improve nutrition,” Nature founder S. Balaraju said on Sunday.
Awareness programmes
Mr. Balaraju, a former member State Commission for Protection of Child Rights, told The Hindu that as part of a weeklong campaign, they had undertaken awareness programmes through cultural teams in the city slums.
Under the programme sponsored by Child Fund India, six district level conventions are planned among the service providers and duty-bearers for greater convergence and networking through sharing of expertise and strengthening children voices and children clubs.
