Slew of events
With the tourist season mid-way through and a number of events, including the Navy Day and Visakha Utsav, lined up, safety measures have become imperative.
After participating in the “no-vehicle” zone in the morning on Monday along with officials, Municipal Commissioner M.V. Satyanarayana said CC camera would be installed after identifying vulnerable areas. Besides electric poles, foot-paths and road margins would get a fresh coat of paint.
The Commissioner who visited the Mudasarlova sewage treatment plant was informed that only 8,000 of the targeted 13,000 households were connected said all the houses must be connected. Presently only 6 mld capacity is being used.
Water projects
Mr. Satyanarayana who visited the drinking water project taken up for central northeast part of the city with a cost of Rs.185 crore wanted it to be expedited and completed by March.
Work on reservoirs
Work on the reservoirs at Doctors’ Colony, Daspalla Hills, Venkateswarametta, Bilal Colony, Kailasagiri, MGM High School and Subbalakshmi Kalyanamantapam areas should also be completed early to meet the March deadline, he said.
