CBI probe to be sought into Pattiseema scheme

Party MLA alleges irregularities to the tune of ₹320 crore

BJP Floor Leader in the Assembly P. Vishnu Kumar Raju has said CBI probe would be sought into the Pattiseema lift scheme on the Godavari.

‘In the next 15 to 20 days the CBI would be approached with all papers and documentation,’ he said at a press conference here on Monday.

It seemed that TDP leader Jupudi Prabhakar Rao had dared BJP to make a complaint to CBI and it would be accepted, he said.

Recently, Mr. Raju alleged irregularities to the tune of ₹320 crore in the scheme on the Right Main Canal of Polavaram project and demanded that the TDP government order an inquiry by CBI, a sitting judge or a team of expert engineers.

Sand issue

Estimating that ₹10,000 more was made on each sand lorry at the ramps in the State, the BJP leader estimated corruption of thousands of crores during the last three years. Instead of repeating the same charges against BJP, the Chief Minister should also speak about it at the Tirupati meeting, he demanded. He should also tell people why he was not ready to take the ₹9,300 crore the Centre was ready to give as a part of the ₹16,000 crore special package to the State.
