CBI files case against two PF officials

Central Bureau of Investigation, Visakhapatnam Branch, has registered a case against two PF officials of Rajahmundry – S. Venkateswara Rao, Inspector, and P.Y. Sharma, social security assistant, charging them with demanding and accepting a bribe.

The complainant had taken a Contractor Licence from Amalapuram Labour Office for undertaking contract works and when he had approached the PF office at Rajahmundry for obtaining the PF Code number for his newly started firm, the two had allegedly demanded Rs.15,000 as illegal gratification, according to CBI DIG G. Nageswara Rao.

The complainant reported the matter to the CBI and the accused were caught red-handed. They were produced before the Special Judge for CBI cases on Wednesday.
