There was palpable energy and bustling enthusiasm at the campus of GITAM University as the three-day annual national knowledge symposium of GUSAC Carnival started on a grand note on Thursday.

This year’s theme for the event was ‘Vision 2020’.

The first day saw well-known personalities from diverse fields coming to the campus to interact with the students.

As part of the literary fest of the carnival, young author Durjoy Dutta gave a lecture on developing writing and literary skills and career in creative writing. A management graduate from IIM-A, Srijan Pal Singh, who co-authored a book with former President Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam titled ‘Target 3 Billion’ spoke on issues like sustainable development. Photographer Kamal Kiran’s workshop dealt with the finer elements of lighting and composition in photography.

Apart from the main events, the students transformed the college campus into a carnival-like atmosphere.

Various groups displayed their creative skills by showcasing an exhibition of art works in one section.

Highlighting social issues like women empowerment and youth power, a team of enthusiastic students presented a vibrant street play in one section of the campus.
