Campaign on helmet launched

‘No helmet-no entry' yielding results

Rashtriya Ispat Nigam Limited Director (Personnel) Y.R. Reddy on Sunday launched a campaign at Ukkunagaram by flagging off the rally to disseminate the usage of crash helmets by two-wheeler users.

Mr. Reddy himself took part in the rally to impress on the advantage of wearing crash helmets while driving the two-wheelers in the plant as well as in the township and other areas.

While citing the recent fatal road accidents, Mr. Reddy said the victims would have been saved if they wore a helmet. The initiatives of VSP management with a slogan that ‘No helmet-no entry' (for two-wheelers) was gradually yielding good results, which brings awareness not only in VSP employees but also in general public who visit VSP for various reasons.

Mr. Reddy also urged the audience to start early and reach safely to the destinations to avoid last minute rush and pressure.

He complimented the union leaders for their support towards the cause.

The rally traversed through the different sectors of Ukkunagaram. P.M.M.G. Krishna, General Manager (Personnel &Industrial Relations), N.V.K. Raju, Deputy GM (Safety), S. Jagannathan, DGM (Personnel) and P.K. Mohapatra, DGM (Administration) were present.
