Everyone should inculcate a habit of reading as it helps develop the personality, Vice-Chancellor, Andhra University, G.S.N. Raju said.
Expressing his happiness at the good turnout at the ongoing 14 annual Book Exhibition of Visalaandhra Book House in Visakhapatnam, he said that it was a good sign that people of all ages and from all sections are reading books.
There were a number of children and teenagers, who were seriously browsing the books along with him, which prompted him to pick up a few more works.
He congratulated Visalaandhra Book House for the effort in running the book exhibition and offering a discount as a part of promoting a healthy reading habit among the citizens.
Books are essential even for people producing works for cinema or television as reading books is the basis of all creative works, Telugu litterateur and retired professor of Telugu in Andhra University V. Simmanna said.
“It is only due to Visalaandhra that we who love the word have been able to survive and sustain,” he asserted. The Book House has been a destination for all the book lovers for generations, he explained.
Member of the Board of Directors of GITAM University B.S.S.N. Raju was bowled over by the collection of works on display. In view of the demand from book lovers the exhibition has been extended by a day and now would conclude on Tuesday, manager of Visalaandhra Book House P A Raju said.
