In view of the growing use of national language Hindi in public interaction and on the social media, there is a need to study the style and form of the language that is to be used in offices, Indian Bank senior manager Virender Rai has said.
Speaking at a symposium on the use of simple Hindi in office place organised by the Indian Bank here on Monday, Mr. Rai said this was the right time to take up a discussion on the style and content of the language to be used in offices and official correspondence. Eminent writers in Hindi and officials in the Official Language Department of different organisations participated in the symposium.
Pointing out that languages were constantly changing and developing with usage and passage of time, he said that it would be appropriate that the language of common interaction be adopted for official purpose, retired professor of Hindi Department, Andhra University, S.M. Iqbal, who was the chief guest, said.
Use of standard phrases and catchy terms in official correspondence would ensure there was no ambiguity in communication, noted writer in Hindi and winner of National Hindi Award, Manager- L in HPCL Visakh Refinery T. Mahadev Rao said.
Hindi Pradhyapak, Hindi Teaching Scheme (GOI), Aruni Trivedi, and Assistant Manager (OL) in Central Bank of India Sujata Jaiswal presented their papers in the symposium.
Indian Bank Assistant General Manager V. Jagannadha Rao presided. Officials from different banks participated in the symposium.
