He wanted the officials to strictly enforce the model code of conduct for the elections, which came into force from April 24, till the election process was completed.

Daily reports must be sent to the district headquarters and all the concerned must ensure a free and fair election and no reason for criticism should be allowed, the Collector said.

The four mandals of Kotavuratla, Payakaraopeta, Nakkapalli, and S. Rayavaram falling under the Payakaraopeta Assembly segment, have been divided into 24 zones and a senior officer has been appointed zonal officer for each Zone.

A senior Deputy Collector will monitor the implementation the election code in each mandal. The officials were asked to visit the polling stations allotted to them and submit a report on Friday.
