To ensure transparency, VUDA will launch online service for building applications from April 1.
Announcing the initiative at a meeting with layout developers and builders here on Monday, Vice-Chairman N. Yuvaraj said applying online would help applicants know the status of their file and further information, avoiding going around the office.
The movement of file can be accessed by the applicant by logging on to the VUDA website from anywhere.
Dr. Yuvaraj invited suggestions from them to improve the services and making the functioning of the planning wing more transparent sticking to timeframe decided for various stages of application right from its receipt.
The online facility would be extended to the layout applications also soon. During the discussion on layouts approval procedures, he said on issues pertaining to Non-Agricultural Land Assessment (NALA) charges, land ownership documents and handing over of the common amenities in the layouts such as parks, roads and open spaces, VUDA was trying to evolve a procedure.
Suggestions sought
Developers and builders were asked to give suggestions on curbing unauthorised layouts. Chief Urban Planner R.J. Vidyullatha, planning officers L. Subrahmanyam and K.D. Brainard and representatives of CREDAI and APREDA attended the meeting.
