Land acquisition notification will be issued to pave the way for completion of the much-delayed Bus Rapid Transit System.
Negotiations will be carried out with those in possession of land seeking their cooperation for the completion of the BRTS corridors.
By Sunday, transferable development rights (TDRs) should be issued. And if some are still not willing, land acquisition notification should be issued, Municipal Commissioner Pravin Kumar said on Friday. He said all the steps should be taken so as to complete the pending work in three months as directed by the Chief Minister.
During his visit to several parts of the city on Sunday last, resolving a vexatious tangle, Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu said that 50 per cent each would be paid to the Simhachalam Devasthanam and those in possession of its land to complete the BRTS. On Friday, Mr. Pravin Kumar visited Vepagunta, Adavivaram, Simhachalam Toli Pavancha, ZP Guest House, Bharatnagar, Prahladapuram, Viratnagar bus stop, Pendurti, SBI there, and NAD Junction on Friday.
Chief City Planner D. Venkataratnam said TDRs for 67 persons were ready and they would be given away.
In the Pendurti Transit Corridor (PTC) issues relating to 54 properties near Pendurti junction are yet to be resolved. At NAD another six properties are to be taken over. Between NAD and Kancharapalem another 35 properties are involved.
On the Simhachalam corridor, the major issue is the Devasthanam land between Gosala and Adavivaram on which about 290 properties are located. Small temples at Vepagunta, Appannapalem, and CMR Function Hall are to be relocated.
In the next few days, the GVMC authorities intend to hold meetings with local leaders in a bid to accelerate the process. However, there a few properties in which land acquisition process had to be initiated, say sources.
BRTS has been taken up on two corridors of 43.36 km with a total cost of Rs.454.73 crore under the Jawaharlal Nehru National Urban Renewal Mission to provide efficient and quick city transport. The Pendurti corridor connects Dwarakanagar via NAD while the Simhachalam corridor runs to Dwarakanagar via Simhachalam. Work began in 2009.
Negotiations to be held with those in possession of land to complete the project
