Municipal Commissioner B. Ramanjaneyulu on Tuesday issued orders to pay compensation and transfer development rights to speed up work on the BRTS corridors after discussing the bottlenecks with property owners and others aggrieved. A GVMC release said the owners had come forward to co-operate.
He told officials to remove parts of shops from which land was required for expansion from Asilmetta to Spencer's and pay the owners accordingly. He told officials to give proper marking for road expansion at Venkojipalem in a day.
Donation
Mr. Ramanjaneyulu discussed with representatives of Saibaba temple on the Simhachalam corridor the issue of relocating the temple from the middle of the road at a site provided by the GVMC. He offered a donation of Rs.10,000 to the reconstruction of the temple.
On a man complaining that he had not received alternative house-site or compensation, he directed Town Planning officials to prepare a list of such people. The marking, estimates and alignment at Gosala as already decided upon should be completed by August 5, he told officials and contractors.
Fined
At Pendurti, Sri Vidya Techno School was fined Rs.10,000 for parking its buses on the road and Bhavani Enterprises Rs.10,000 for encroaching upon road and Rs.10,000 for a lorry parked across the road.
He spoke to those who were losing land in the BRTS corridor construction and had obtained a stay from the court.
After a visit to Asilmetta flyover and the subway, the Commissioner held a meeting with contractors executing work on the BRTS and the flyover.
