The mammoth task of building the new capital for Andhra Pradesh and reconstructing the nascent State has been receiving support from several quarters. Contributions have been pouring in though the exact location has not yet been decided.

Founders of Institute for Solid Waste Research and Ecological Balance (INSWAREB) Kalidas and Bhanumathidas have come forward to donate a humble contribution from the carbon credits of FaL-G bricks. The two said they would donate Rs.3,45,699 got from carbon credits got out of producing FaL-G bricks through a contract with the World Bank.

Besides, responding to the call of the Chief Minister to people to contribute a brick each, Mr. Kalidas and Ms. Bhanumathi said one lakh bricks would be contributed on behalf of INWSAREB Building Centre. The bricks are worth Rs.4.5 lakh and will have a strength of 100 kg/square centimetre. The centre, sponsored by HUDCO, will be shifted to the work spots.

In a letter to the Chief Minisrter, the sustainable development consultants and inventors of FaL-G technology, have offered the most economic mix designs of concrete that are about 25 per cent cheaper than OPC cement of same grade and strength, assuring longevity and durability.

Mr. Kalidas also promised to take up the task of mobilising quality conscious and committed entrepreneurs to work in the new capital region to monitor quality by deploying a mobile laboratory. It will also stand good for civil works to be taken up under NTR Sujala Sravanthi, he added.
