Writers paid rich tributes to Telugu cine lyricist Veturi Sundara Ramamurthy at a condolence meeting at Visakhapatnam Public Library by releasing a book ‘Jhummandi Nadam', which is a commentary on his works.

Representing Lok Nayak Foundation Yarlagadda Lakshmi Prasad wanted the State Government to name the Nandi Award given to lyricists after Veturi. Describing him as one among the many greats that were produced by Gudivada and its surroundings in Krishna district, the former MP termed the book authored by Rambhatla Nrusimha Sarma as an authentic documentary on Veturi's lyrics.

A self-explanatory note on Veturi, it was one of the best thesis produced in any of the State Universities, he observed. The Andhra University Vice-Chancellor Beela Satyanarayana formally released the book, while renowned writer D.V. Surya Rao reviewed the book.

At the meeting all the popular songs of Veturi were played and even the meeting began with a prayer song written by the lyricist. Others who attended the function included Koppurapu Kavula Kalapeetham president Maa Sarma, Atreya Memorial Kalapetham president Ganti Muralidhar.
