Book on Annamayya kritis released

Former Head of the Department of Telugu of Andhra University Vedula Subrahmanya Sastry on Wednesday released ‘Annamayya Srungara Tarangini’, written by Venkat Garikapati

at a function organised by Public Relations Society of India to mark the 515th death anniversary of saint-composer Tallapaka Annamacharya.

The first copy of the book was presented to SBI DGM M.B. Diwakar.

PRSI Visakhapatnam chapter D.V.R. Murthy presided .

Mr. Subrahmanya Sastry said Mr. Venkat authored the book with fervour.

The author said noted Carnatic music exponent Nedunuri Krishna Murthy was the inspiration for writing his commentary on Annamayya kritis.

Later Harita and Sarika rendered Annamacharya kritis with commentary by Mr. Venkat. PRSI secretary P.L.K. Murthy spoke.
