BMS demands hike in income tax relief

Bharatiya Mazdoor Sangh has asked the NDA Government to exempt income up to Rs.5 lakh from payment of Income Tax.

In a memorandum submitted to Union Finance Minister Arun Jaitley, the central leaders of BMS said income tax relief was required due to unprecedented increase in cost of living.

The representation sought steps to control price rise, fixation of minimum wages of Rs.15,000 per month linked with D.A, Social Security to all as Constitutional responsibility, redressal of 10-point charter of demands pending since past three years.

BMS AP legal cell in-charge K. Bhavani Shankarudu said on Saturday that they also sought stoppage of FDI in rail, defence, financial sector, retail trade, education, health and media and initiatives to provide better social security to the industrial workers.

BMS leaders wanted review of loss making PSU and provide fund for their revival, increase fund for skill development and employment, interim relief for Seventh Pay Commission and include labour representation in the commission.
