The BJP will kick-start its campaign with a meeting in Visakhapatnam on March 25, according to party State vice-president Bandaru Ranga Mohana Rao.
Addressing media persons here on Sunday he said a decision to this effect was taken at the party executive held in Vijayawada. As a part of the campaign they will cover all 13 districts in Seemandhra to spread the party’s resolve to make Narendra Modi Prime Minister and work for the development of Seemandhra, he said.
Mr Ranga Mohan Rao said party president K. Haribabu, D. Purandeswari, Krishnam Raju, Somu Veerraju, Santa Reddy, Chilakam Ramachandra Reddy and P V Chalapathi Rao would participate in the meeting at Kalabharati Auditorium. In the morning, party all-India Joint General Secretary Satishji will hold a meeting on the nominees for Lok Sabha and Assembly.
He said the campaign would conclude on April 4 after covering the remaining districts.
Expressing happiness at the support BJP getting from several quarters, including actor Pavan Kalyan and Lok Satta, he said talks with TDP for an alliance were going on and a clear picture would emerge in the next three to four days.
In case, an alliance was not formed a list of nominees for the 175 Assembly and 25 Lok Sabha constituencies was ready and will be forwarded to the Central Election Committee, Mr. Ranga Mohana Rao said. BJP will contest the Visakhapatnam Lok Sabha seat and who the candidate will be decided by the Central Committee, he said.
Modi meeting He said BJP prime ministerial nominee Narendra Modi will address four meetings in the State in second or third week of April.The meetings were earlier planned between March 20 and 30, but were now postponed owing to the local elections.
Mr. Modi is likely to address the meetings at Visakhapatnam, Rajahmundry, Vijayawada and Tirupati. The schedule will be finalised in the next few days, he said.
Party city president P.V. Narayana Rao, leaders J. Pridhviraj and Prakash Reddy and others were present.
