Leaders of various political parties have opined that the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and the Telugu Desam Party (TDP) are feeling isolated with people realising that the two ruling parties are responsible for the State being denied the benefits promised in the AP Reorganisation Act, 2014.
At a public meeting organised by the Communist Party of India (Marxist) Greater Visakhapatnam city committee here on Wednesday to demand immediate declaration of the new railway zone with headquarters in Visakhapatnam and Special Category Status (SCS), they expressed the view that the days of the BJP and the TDP were numbered.
No-confidence motion
They called upon the people to be prepared for a prolonged agitation on the lines of ‘Visakha Ukku, Andhrula Hakku’ for achieving the railway zone. CPI(M) State secretary P. Madhu said that Parliament had not transacted any business since February. He alleged that the Centre was preventing the ‘no-confidence’ motion being taken up during the past four days by creating a ruckus in Parliament with the support of the AIADMK and TRS. CPI(M) State secretary P. Madhu said Mr. Chandrababu Naidu had cheated the people.
