The announcement of clinching of poll alliance with the Telugu Desam Party was received well by Bharatiya Janata Party cadre who had assembled to participate in the party formation day here on Sunday.

Senior party leader and former MLC P.V. Chalapati Rao unfurled the party flag at the party office at Daspalla Hills to mark 34 Formation Day of the party. The party leaders and cadre who started their ward campaign on the occasion were in a buoyant mood.

The report of BJP will be contesting Visakhapatnam Lok Sabha seat with BJP AP president K Haribabu as the candidate was a morale booster and the cadres who thronged the party office immediately went into a huddle to plan out ground level strategies to carry out the national campaign ‘This time Modi Government’.

Party city unit president P.V. Narayana Rao expressed happiness at the tie-up and said the committed workers of the BJP would work for the success of all the candidates in the alliance. He exuded confidence the NDA would win all the seats in AP helping achieve absolute majority in Lok Sabha.

“The misrule in the last 10 years has pushed the country to the bottom in economic, political, and foreign policy fronts. The need of the hour is a stable government with absolute majority that can root out the corruption,” he said and lauded TDP president N Chandrababu Naidu for his decision.

There is tremendous enthusiasm among the servicemen and their families about the prospects of the BJP and a large number of ex-servicemen and members of families of serving and retired officers are keen to join and participate in the campaign, city coordinator for ex-servicemen cell Lt Commander (retired) RRK Murthy said.

A large number of party leaders, including Challa Mahalakshmi, Nagendra, Narender Prakash, Prithviraj, Prakash Reddy, Malla Venkat Rao, K Ratna Kumari, K Rajakumari, Sulochana Reddy, and Bulusu Sailaja and media coordinator D.V.S. Varma were present.
