Facilities for sports were needed and talented sportspersons would have a good future, said Additional Director General of Police (training) K. Durga Prasad while inaugurating a basketball court at St. Peter's High School, Gnanapuram, here on Monday.

He also distributed sports kits to players. MLA Dronamraju Srinivasa Rao wanted donors to help sports more. Managing Director of CMR group M.V. Raman assured more help in future to sports.

Former VUDA chairman Y. Maria Das, Director of Physical Education of Andhra University M. Syam Babu, Parish Priest of St. Peter's Cathedral Antony Puthussery, Head Mistress of St. Peter's High School Rev. Sr. Vijaya Mary, Head Mistress of St. Peter's Elementary School Rev. Sr. Sandra, president of Parish Pastoral Council Rajesh Babu, Ravindra of Essar company, president of District Basketball Association T.S.R. Prasad, secretary B. Ramayya, and others attended.

The function was a colourful affair and was attended by a large number of pupils of the school and residents of Gnanapuram. The Basketball Association felicitated retired PET of St. Peter's High School P. Mariya Das and international boxer G.V. Nagarjuna.

An exhibition match was played after the court was inaugurated.
