Every second counts while cracking the IBPS examination. By changing the approach towards the digits and exploring smart techniques to solve complicated calculations, a lot of time can be saved, trainer of TalentSprint Rohit Agarwal has said.
He was addressing students from various streams who made a beeline for the free seminar on ‘Career in banking sector’ at Kalabharathi auditorium on Wednesday. Presented jointly by the The Hindu and TalentSprint, a partner company of the National Skill Development Corporation, more than 1,000 people turned up for the event.
Mr. Rohit explained the concept of percentages, formulas that can be applied to solve complicated calculations, and shortcuts used to find out square roots and multiplications in detail with a PowerPoint presentation.
“Time is a major constraint when it comes to cracking the IBPS exam. Practising mental arithmetic, following split and merge techniques while calculating, avoiding paperwork, and applying smart methods to get the answers instantly will help in saving a lot of time,” he said.
Senior vice-president – online skill services of TalentSprint K. Sridhar said: “A lot of opportunities are there in banking sector. More than 2 lakh candidates are expected to appear for the IBPS examination as against 20,000 jobs available. Those who work hard and are committed can only make a mark.” Two books — ‘23 techniques you must know to score more in quantitative aptitude’ and ‘1,000 questions you must solve before appearing for bank exams’ — were given to the participants. Four persons — Y. Hari Ram Mohan, A. Kalyani, K. Sivanya Sudha, and T. Lakshmi — won an online programme worth Rs.3,000 free of cost through lucky dip. In addition, close to 200 candidates were given a chance to avail themselves of 43 per cent discount in online coaching classes. Regional General Manager of The Hindu T.V.
