Lok Sabha member K. Hariababu on Sunday asked bank officials to provide ‘Sishu’ (initial round of loan of ₹50000 under Mudra loans) to vendors at the fish market near the Central Park. During his visit, he was told by vendors that none of them got Mudra loans.

The MP said though it was introduced with a view to helping vendors, in Andhra Pradesh the total loan amount disbursed was much less than the neighbouring Karnataka. Of the 12,000 vendors identified in GVMC area, loans were recommended to 950 and given to 410, according to BJP leaders.

GVMC Commissioner M. Hari Narayanan, MLA P. Vishnu Kumar Raju, MLC P. V. N. Madhav, BJP city president M. Nagendra and Lead District Manager Saratbabu and officials of SBI, Canara and Syndicate Banks participated.
