March 18, 2013 02:39 pm | Updated 02:39 pm IST - VISAKHAPATNAM:

A meeting of TDP District Coordination Committee to discuss party president and former Chief Minister N.Chandrababu Naidu’s padayatra ended in a controversy with former minister Bandaru Satyanarayana Murthy turning up at the party office but leaving without participating in it.

The “Vastunna.. Mee Kosam” padayatra is scheduled to enter the district, tentatively, at Payakaraopeta on April 4. The meeting was called to discuss the route map for the padayatra. Politburo member Ch. Ayyanna Patrudu was addressing partymen when Mr. Murthy came to the venue and seeing a large number of workers, Mr. Murthy reportedly remarked that it appeared to be a workers meeting and left . Party rural president Dadi Ratnakar and his urban counterpart Vasupalli Ganesh Kumar tried to invite him to the meeting but in vain.

Later, Mr. Ganesh Kumar also left.

The meeting later in the party president’s room discussed the route up to Anakapalle though the routes even there were not finalised. However, in view of the 10-day time allotted whether to cover the city or go to Sabbavaram via Anakapalle or Parawada or cover parts of the city from NAD via Kancharapalem etc. was not decided, it was learnt.

Source said since Pendurthi falls in Mr. Murthy’s constituency it was not discussedand another meeting would be called to finalise the padayatra routes.
