Baby killed in LPG cylinder blast in Vizag

A four-month-old baby boy was killed when a LPG cylinder went off in a blast while being repaired for a leak in the opposite house. This incident occurred in the congested Rangireeju street in the old city area here on Tuesday morning.

Eighteen were injured in the incident and 12 were admitted in King George Hospital. Six of them are said to be in a critical condition. Six others who received minor injuries are at their homes.

The LPG cylinder was leaking for the last three days and it went up in a blast when someone meddled with it on Tuesday morning. Four members of the family and this person were severely injured. The blast resulted in minor damage to neighbouring houses also.

Ministers Ch. Ayyanna Patrudu and Ganta Srinivasa Rao called on the injured at the KGH. MLA of Visakha South V. Ganesh Kumar and former MLA Dronamraju Srinivasa Rao visited the accident spot.
