Andhra University is striving to help naval employees acquire knowledge and provide them higher educational opportunities, according to Vice-Chancellor G. Nageswara Rao.

Prof. Nageswara Rao, who recently met Flag Officer Commanding-in-Chief of Western Naval Vice Admiral Girish Luthra in Mumbai, said it was proposed to introduce two courses -- diploma in missile maintenance with one year duration and M. Tech instrumentation course with two-year duration for naval employees.

He also said a four-member team of experts from the university visited various naval offices in Mumbai. He indicated that the syllabus pertaining to the new courses would be readied shortly.

There was a possibility of signing an MoU with the naval officials next month on the proposed courses, said the Vice-Chancellor.
