AU hosting Amity 2010

Department of Commerce and Management Studies of Andhra University is hosting Amity 2010, a major all-India B-schools meet, here from March 28 to 30. This is being organised as part of the department's platinum jubilee celebrations.

The department is hosting Amity after a gap of eight years and this time more than 2,000 students from more than 150 B schools across the country are attending, Vice-Chancellor B. Satyanarayana, HoD and chairman of the organising committee Balla Appa Rao and Principal of AU College of Arts and Commerce L.K. Mohana Rao informed at a press conference on Thursday.

To mark the Amity 2010, the department is conducting Vizag Green 5K run on the morning of March 28 on the Beach road to impress the students and the people about the need to keep the city and country green and to protect the environment.

Arrangements for Amity 2010 are nearing completion and all participants would be provided free accommodation and food.

Many events would be organised to test the skills and intelligence of the MBA students, during the three-day meet. Mr. Amity and Ms. Amity would decide the best male and female participant having personality, aptitude and what makes one to make it to the top, said the organisers. Amity 2010 would be inaugurated by Union Minster of State for HRD D. Purandeswari.
