A human chain was formed by Asha workers at Satyam junction on the National Highway on Wednesday as they held up traffic in protest against the indifferent attitude of the government towards their demands.
The Asha workers launched a two-day protest outside the District Medical and Health Officer’s (DMHO) Office which concluded on Wednesday. The striking workers were restrained by the police. The main demands of the Asha workers include payment of ₹ 6,000 as minimum wages, payment of salary arrears and priority to Asha workers in the filling up of ANM posts.
