Tailor-made sessions will improve their employability

A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) has been reached between Dadi Institute of Engineering and Technology (DIET) and Visakha Container Terminal Private Limited (VCTPL) to facilitate the industry-institute partnership and render real-time learning for DIET students.

The document was signed by DIET secretary and correspondent Dadi Ratnakar and senior vice president of VCTPL R. Ravi Kumar on Monday.

Chief Operating Officer of VCTPL Capt. Sriram Ravi Chander said the MoU would enable the students to apply the concepts learnt and help them in converting them into meaningful and result-oriented projects.

Mr. Ratnakar said the MoU would improve the employability of the students besides promoting entrepreneurship, empowering the students and giving them a real-time platform to experiment constructively and create working prototypes.

College Principal B. Jagan Mohan Rao, Head of the Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering (EEE) Vijay Kumar, HOD of MBA Bhaskar Garimella, Associate Professor K. Veeresam and VCTPL deputy general manager Biju Abraham were present.

DIET faculty would first receive intensive training with reference to various engineering functions at VCTPL and they would in turn train EEE students of the college. The content would be monitored by both DIET and VCTPL. On successful completion of the training, the chances of DIET students to get absorbed by VCTPL would be bright and even otherwise their chances of getting better jobs in other organisations would improve in view of the exclusive tailor-made sessions as part of the MoU, according to a statement issued by the college.
