GVMC Contractors' Association will donate 100 bicycles to contribute to reducing vehicular pollution.
On Thursday morning, the association conducted a bicycle rally in the “vehicle free zone” on Beach Road.
Municipal Commissioner B. Ramanjaneyulu who flagged off the rally and pedalled from NTR Statue to YSR Statue and back complimented the contractors for donating bicycles in spite of their bills getting delayed and becoming a part of environmental conservation.
He said the campaign of GVMC had been paying dividends with people becoming a part of conservation and doing their bit. Increasing sales of bicycles and more demand for bus passes was an indication, he said.
Association president Rongali Jagannadha Rao said use of cycles among workers with contractors would be promoted.
He announced the contribution in the form of 100 bicycles to help in GVMC's drive.

This is a good gesture by vizag contractors which must be emulated by others in AP and other states as well so that the present terrible levels of pollution decrease throught the nation and people brethe happily.
