University of Texas at Arlington (US) will have a tie-up with Gitam University on joint research programmes, particularly in the area of nano technology.
This was one of the outcomes of Gitam University President M.V.V.S. Murthi's visit to the US university on Thursday, according to a press release from GITAM University on Friday. Mr. Murthi, during interaction with the Dean of UTA School of Engineering E.A.Armanios and other researchers, briefed them about the University and explained about the university's close association with industry and its R&D centre to conduct research and consultancy works. Gitam University was actively engaged in nano technology research and conducted research projects and it was giving top priority to research and consultancy, Dr. Murthi explained.
He hoped that the research tie-up between the two universities would enhance the quality of results.
Dr. Armanios announced that both the universities would enter into a MoU for co-operation in all arenas and details would be worked out soon.
Explaining about his university, he said that it was a public research university with a student population of around 33,000 on a 400 acres complex with one hundred buildings. Its nano engineering research laboratory was one of the wonders in the education field of the USA and was graded second best in the country.
