The strike will force the MPs to go against the division, says district convenor

All State Government employees in the district would go on a strike from Thursday to February 21 when the Parliament session ends, in response to a call given by the Samaikya Rashtrar Parirakshana Vedika, president of district unit of APNGOs Association and district convenor of the Vedika K. Eswara Rao said on Wednesday.

The 66-day strike in the past had forced the MLAs to speak against bifurcation of the State in the Assembly.

The the 15-day strike commencing on Thursday would be a historic one as it would force the MPs to go against the division, he said.

The Bharatiya Janata Party having second thoughts on the Telangana Bill was a good omen, State vice-president of the association R. Ravishankar said.

He wanted all employees of Seemandhra to make the strike a success.

Representatives of all Government departments supported the strike. Mr. Eswara Rao, city unit’s president Venkateswara Rao, secretary VVV Satyanarayana and others appealed to the employees, teachers, workers and people to participate in large numbers in the Samaikya Run and the Walk for Unity to be held on the beach road on the evening of February 9.
