Andhra Pradesh Eastern Power Distribution Corporation Limited (APEPDCL) tops the chart for generating the maximum number of e-files, not only among the departments in the State government but also among the power utility companies in India.

The total number of files created under the e-Office initiative in the State government is about 62,291, and of which 50,036 files are of APEPDCL, which caters to over 80 per cent, said Chairman and Managing Director of the Discom Revu Mutyala Raju.

The Civil Supplies Department is in second position with 2,508 files created, followed by VUDA with 1,886 files, Police Commissionerate, Vijayawada with 1,764 and SERP with 1,447 files.

The Discom achieved it by training 2,843 e-office users working in 532 offices of APEPDCL. Apart from creating 50,036 files, 91,585 receipts were also generated in e-offices. According to Mr. Mutyala Raju, it is estimated that by creating 50,036 e-Files, a number of trees have been saved from being cut.

“It is estimated that the 50,036 e-Files would have consumed about 4.5 lakh A4 sheets of paper,” said the APEPDCL CMD.
