APEPDCL collects Rs. 26 lakh from defaulters

The Detection and Pilferage of Energy (DPE) wing of the Andhra Pradesh Eastern Power Distribution Company Limited (APEPDCL) has recovered Rs. 26.59 lakhs from the consumers with regard to defaulting payment and power theft.

Several raids were conducted over a period of three days from May 19, in all the five districts under its jurisdiction such as Visakhapatnam, Vizianagaram, Srikakulam, West Godavari and East Godavari. As many as 1,480 connections were inspected during the raids.

Superintendent Engineer (DPE) of the APEPDCL, E. Surya Prakasa Rao, appealed to the people to inform the DPE if anybody was found indulging in power theft by dialling the phone number: 9440812809.
