The daughter-in-law of Andhra Pradesh Speaker Kodela Sivaprasad Rao on Thursday filed a case of kidnapping against her estranged husband Kodela Sivaramakrishna at the Three Town Police station.
The woman, Padmapriya, has been staying separately at her parent’s place near Peda Waltair in Visakhapatnam with her four-year-old son K. Gowtham since 2010 due to some martial discord with the Speaker’s son.
As per reports, her estranged husband, along with four other persons including two officially allotted gunmen, barged into her parent’s house and forcibly took away the child.
She reportedly told the police that she was married in 2009 and was subjected to harassment by her in-laws including the Speaker’s daughter. Unable to bear the harassment, she moved back to her parent's house.
Ms. Padmapriya also alleged that she had been living with threats since she left her in-laws' house and the threats had increased ever since Mr. Sivaprasad became the Speaker.
Three Town police acknowledged that Ms. Padmapriya had lodged the case, but refused to divulge the details.
