The A.P. Government has provisionally identified Andhra University as the State agency for conducting the SLET for recruitment and promotions of lecturers, assistant professors in universities and degree colleges from the year 2015 onwards, as per the UGC regulations of 2009. This was taken up by the government after AP State Council of Higher Education (APSCHE) had proposed AU as the state agency, in the aftermath of bifurcation of the State.
