SIT receives complaint against Peela

Anakapalle MLA Peela Govind Satyanarayana said the allegation of land grab against him was baseless and the land in question belonged to his family. He was addressing the media on the issue here on Saturday.

The SIT, appointed by the government, received a complaint from one V. Rajagopala Chandra claiming that the MLA and his family members had encroached over 47 acres of his land and 48.5 acres of government land at Ramavaram area under the Anandapuram mandal in the city.

Though the land dispute between Mr. Rajagopala Chandra of a Zamindar family and Mr. Govind is in the court, the RDO court had only a few days back issued an order that the 48.5 acres at Ramavaram area belonged to the government. As per the complainant, the MLA with the support of Botsa Satyanarayana managed to get pattadar passbooks for the private and government land by tampering land records. But according to Mr. Govind, his father had purchased over 70 acres at Ramavaram in the 1980s and had obtained the pattadar passbooks. “I can prove my honesty and am ready to face any investigation,” he said.
