It was an emotional reunion for a little girl and her mother after two years of separation.
The PAPA (Police And Public Association for Street Children) Home for Girls nurtured the girl and facilitated the reunion here on Monday. The street children (all girls) are cared for at the PAPA Home for Girls at Seethammadhara.
Some of the girls failed to give information about their parents, when they were picked up from railway stations and other public places. One such girl was found at Hyderabad two years ago and was admitted to the Government Girls Home in Visakhapatnam as she had stated that she belonged to Srikakulam.
The girl was brought to the PAPA Home for Girls in May 2013. During interaction the girl said that her parents were living at Chintada of Amudalavalasa mandal in Srikakulam district.
Based on the information provided by the girl, a member of the home Bhaskar Srinivas made enquiries about the girl’s parents with the help of M. Chandrasekhara Reddy of Srikakulam and finally traced her mother Eswaramma, according to secretary G.S. Lakshmi.
Eswaramma identified her daughter and she was overjoyed to see her daughter after two years. PAPA Home president P. Satyanarayana, treasurer P. Venkateswara Rao and representative Vijayasree were present.
