All schools will get basic facilities: Ganta

HRD Minister Ganta Srinivasa Rao has said that Pratibha awards will be presented to over 6,000 meritorious students to mark the birth anniversary of A.P.J. Abdul Kalam on October 15.

Participating as chief guest in a programme held at Zilla Parishad conference hall here on Sunday to felicitate best teachers and present awards to meritorious students, he said the government would always encourage talented teachers and students.

Mr. Srinivasa Rao said the government was according priority to education despite deficit budget and decided to provide basic facilities to all schools with ₹5,000 crore.

Underlining the need for discipline among students, he exhorted them not to indulge in ragging.

Zilla parishad chairperson Lalam Bhavani, MLCs Gade Srinivasulu Naidu and P.V.N. Madhav and others spoke.
