Actor Nagarjuna has said they will be relaunching his actor son Akhil with ‘Hello’, slated to be released on December 22. “For the last one year we have done a lot of home work to make the film a perfect relaunch for him and director Vikram K. Kumar has done justice to it,” said actor Nagarjuna.
Nag turned nostalgic when he referred to ‘Manam’, the last film of legendary actor Akkineni Nageswara Rao dirècted by Vikram. He said it was a real tribute to ANR and he gave full credit to Vikram for that. He said he was sure Vikram would give yet another success to Annapurna Studios with ‘Hello’. ANR brought dance and grace to Telugu films and Akhil’s acting and dance resemble his grandfather, Nag said.
Akhil and Nagarjuna enthralled a large number of their fans gathered at ‘Hello’ audio release function at VUDA Park grounds in the city, on Sunday night. Akhil set the stage afire with his live performance for song ‘Merise, merise..’ from the film. He also crooned a song from his film much to the delight of fans. He said it was his first-ever live performance in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana. “I love Vizag. It is such a beautiful place and I am very happy that ‘Hello’ audio is being released here,” Akhil said with a broad smile. Nagarjuna with wife Amala thoroughly enjoyed the proceedings of the programme anchored by Suma and actor Ali. Kalyani Priyadarsini, daughter of ace director Priydarshan, is making her debut as heroine in ‘Hello’. She thanked Nag and Vikaram for giving her the opportunity.
A beaming Nag said ‘Hello’ would sure be a blockbuster for the year and would establish Akhil as a leading star. He said he would produce the third film with Vikram featuring his elder son Nag Chitanya soon.
Music composer Anup Ruben surprised the audience with live performance at the audio launch of his 50th film. His symphony of songs from ‘Hello’ with a 25-member troupe from Chennai was highlight of the programme.
Minister for HRD Ganta Srinivasa Rao, who released the audio CD, said a smart film audio was released in a smart city. He appealed to Nagarjuna to make efforts to move film industry to Visakhapatnam like his legendary father who was the man behind shifting of Tollywood from Chennai to Hyderabad.
Responding to the Minister, Nag said his first film Vikram was shot in Erramatti Dibbalu, action sequences in ‘Mass’ were filmed on beach road besides several of his films were canned in Araku, Rajahmundry and Kakinada.
