Air Asia GM clarifies

April 02, 2014 09:24 pm | Updated November 16, 2021 09:57 pm IST - VISAKHAPATNAM:

Suresh Nair, General Manager - India, Sri Lanka and Bangladesh, Air Asia Berhad, has clarified in a statement that his designation was wrongly given as ‘Country Head (India)’.

Reacting to a report published in these columns on Wednesday on the meeting held by the Air Travellers’ Association of India here on Tuesday, Mr. Nair said that the team from Air Asia Berhad was in Vizag for a market study.

However, ATA (I) president D. Varada Reddy had announced his designation as Country Head India at the meeting and this was not countered or corrected at the meeting.

Mr. Nair explained that the meeting with members of ATA (I) was organised with the intention of getting the right inputs on the passenger and cargo potential of Visakhapatnam and its feeder cities and he did not expect media to be present. He was unaware that the organisers had invited the media, he added.
