‘Admonished’ SSC student ends life

A Class X student allegedly committed suicide by hanging herself from a ceiling fan in her home after her mother reportedly admonished her for watching television and neglecting her studies during the SSC examination at Arilova on Tuesday night.

The deceased was identified as K Meghana (16), student of a government school at Arilova area.

Her father K Raju is a painter.

The parents of the girl reportedly said Meghana used to argue with family members over petty issues.

On March 20 night, Meghana’s mother noticed her watching television. As she was supposed to attempt mathematics paper on Wednesday, her mother allegedly admonished Meghana.

Apparently upset over the issue, Meghna went top her room and locked the doors from inside. The girl then allegedly hanged herself when her mother was busy in the kitchen, the police said .

Though her parents shifted her to a nearby corporate hospital, the doctors declared the girl brought dead.

Case registered

The police registered a case and shifted the body to KGH for post-mortem. Investigation is on.
