Add bounce to your tresses

Just like your wardrobe, in summer, your tresses too need extra attention. Constant exposure to harmful rays of the sun will often leave your hair frizzy, dry, and unmanageable.

A little care like washing your hair regularly and applying nourishing packs would go a long way to bounce back in style and maintain the texture, especially in sultry season.

Adding life to dull locks, homemakers have come up with simple solutions that not only help keep dirt, dandruff, and sweat at bay but also bring back life to the hair.

Tanya Idnani, a homemaker, has an enviable texture of hair. It’s soft, smooth, and absolutely straight.

Ask her the secret, she immediately shares, “I pamper my tresses with banana pack once in a week. This pack works wonders to soften my hair and is an excellent remedy for dry hair.”

Preparation

Take a full banana, preferably a ripe one, in a bowl and mash it well. Apply it on your hair and leave for 15 minutes. Rinse it off well using a mild shampoo.

If you are fond of treating your hair with assorted herbal ingredients, Harshita Lalchand, another homemaker, comes up with a homemade hair mask.

She says, “I have been using only one pack that stands as a single solution for all my hair problems. It is a dry powder that has equal portions of methi (fenugreek seeds), rita (soap-nut), shikakai , amla (gooseberry), tulsi leaves, bringraj , neem leaves, and mehendi leaves.”

All the above ingredients are sun-dried, ground into a fine powder, and stored in a container. Depending on the volume of the hair, this herbal powder is mixed with lemon juice, egg (optional), and sour curd, and applied to the hair and washed off after 15 minutes. For better results, apply the pack once in a week.

‘Be happy’

For some dance works wonders.

Faiz Unnisa Begum, Zumba instructor, says that dance sessions help her maintain tresses too.

“After each session, my toxins are flushed out through sweat. Keeping the body free from stress and toxins is equally essential for better maintenance of hair. Also, one should learn how to enjoy life every moment and stay happy,” she adds.
