Accused in ACB case sent to remand

Continuing the raids on the premises of the accused Assistant Executive Engineer of Greater Visakhapatnam Municipal Corporation (GVMC) K.V.V. Madhav Rao, who was arrested by the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB), for amassing wealth disproportionate to the known sources of income on Wednesday, the ACB officials on Thursday opened two bank lockers belonging to the tainted officers.

The sleuths recovered silver articles worth about Rs. 1 lakh from one locker and 266 gms of gold ornaments from the other. The extent of the oil palm plantation at Devarapalli has gone up from 8 acres to 10.14 acres.

According to the ACB DSP K. Ramakrishna Prasad, the net worth of documents and properties seized has gone up from Rs. 2 crore to 2.36 crore and the market value has touched Rs. 12 crore.

The accused was produced before ACB Special Judge and was sent to remand of 14 days, on Thursday.
